SAVANNAH - Mrs. Youon C. Tucker, 77, died October 31, 2009 after a long illness at Spanish Oaks Retreat and Hospice. She was born in South Haven, Michigan and raised in Louisiana. She attended Mount Carmel High School in Abbeville, Louisiana and Lafayette Louisiana Business College. She subsequently moved to Savannah, Georgia where she resided for the past 60 years. She was co-owner and bookkeeper for Tucker and Sons Service Center in downtown Savannah for many years. She was track coach for Nativity of Our Lord and St. James parochial schools for a number of years.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Donald H. Tucker, Sr.; a son Donald H. Tucker, Jr. and his wife Patty; a daughter Debbie A. Tucker; a son Michael D. Tucker and his wife Shelley; two grandchildren Travis Michael Tucker and Megan Michaela Tucker; and first cousin Betty Burnsed who she considered a sister.

Visitation will be held at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive on Monday November 2 from 5-8 pm. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday November 3 at the Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery.
